Daneel completed his articles at Arthur Andersen in 1994. He gained eight years of valuable experience in
debt structuring and placement, corporate finance and unlisted investment
management at Mettle, where he was responsible for its Cape Town office.
Daneel is a founding member and the managing director of Pointbreak, which he joined on a full time basis in 2003.
Santie and Daneel have three sons and a daughter and value a positive and balanced approach to life.

Gerald completed his articles at PwC in Windhoek during 2001 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2002. After a short stint working as a financial controller in the United Kingdom, Gerald re-joined PwC Namibia’s tax department in 2003 where he initially assumed management responsibility for the indirect tax department and thereafter progressed to the position of Associate Director and headed the Corporate and International Tax Division. Gerald joined Pointbreak during 2007. In his position as Group Finance Director he is responsible for overseeing the finance function of Pointbreak’s Namibian and South African operations. His duties include risk management, IT, governance, financial reporting and financial strategy.
Gerald's wife, Almut, is passionate about teaching music and the Riedels enjoy camping, cycling and travelling.

After completing his articles at PwC, John joined (what was then) Boland Bank and then Mettle, where he gained experience in treasury, risk management, corporate finance and management of unlisted investments.
John is a founding member of Pointbreak, which he joined on a full time basis in 2003. He is responsible for Pointbreak's Cape Town operations.
With three daughters and a son, John and Susan treasure spending time together, especially at places where one experiences the true value of nature. John also loves his sport, whether it is playing golf, cricket, surfing or mountainbiking.
B.Juris, LLB
The experience that Monica gained working in corporate finance at the Namibian Stock Exchange and NedCapital has served her well in her current role as a founding shareholder and managing director of private equity company, Stimulus.
Monica also plays a positive role in the Namibian economy, serving on various bodies and commissions which are aimed at guiding national policy and formulation.
Monica has two children, a girl and a boy, who are constant reminders of the need to balance her work and life commitments. She is an avid squash player and runner. In terms of community involvement, Monica has a passion for financial education, regularly providing financial literacy training to youth groups, churches and NGOs.

Prior to becoming a founding member of Pointbreak in late 1999, Pieter worked at PwC Cape Town, Amsterdam and Johannesburg where he gained both local and international experience in corporate finance transactions.
Pieter has a passion in growing businesses and product lines from their start-up phase and seeing it evolve to mature businesses. This is a process that Pieter has been involved with many times at Pointbreak, be it co-managing Pointbreak's first venture capital fund, starting and co-driving Pointbreak Corporate Finance, overseeing Pointbreak's investments or heading up Pointbreak Private Property investments.
Pieter is married to Tania (who actually designed the Pointbreak logo and corporate identity) and they have three sons. The ocean, specifically surfing and kite surfing are Pieter's outdoor passion. The family treasures relationships, simplicity, active rest and adventure whilst always being challenged by Tania's creative flair.

Rein is one of the founders of Pointbreak, which was originally established as a private equity company. He moved to Windhoek in 2004 and helped to set up Stimulus, a majority black-owned private equity investment company. Rein has an executive responsibility within Pointbreak Asset Management and is an executive director of Stimulus.
Prior to joining Pointbreak, Rein gained in-depth experience in all facets of investment analysis and portfolio management through time spent at Investec Asset Management, where he was involved in fund administration, equity trading, investment analysis and portfolio management. Rein was the portfolio manager of a small cap unit trust fund as well as several pension funds. He also assisted in the management of the Investec Emerging Companies Fund.
Rein is an outdoors person and loves adventure. He enjoys all forms of watersports as well as mountainbiking, birding, photography and camping with Tania and their three children.

Tony's extensive banking experience in South Africa and Namibia has yielded experience and expertise in treasury, asset / liability management and securities trading. He has played a positive role in defining the Namibian financial landscape, having served on the Bankers Association of Namibia for many years and being instrumental in establishing the Namibian Stock Exchange.
Tony's current portfolio is Pointbreak Wealth Management where he plans on fulfilling a dream of providing a transparent wealth, investment and cash management financial service to discerning clients. He is also passionate about educating people from all walks of life on investment and retirement planning.
Maggie and Tony have two sons, two daughters and many pets. The Edmunds family enjoys spending time together, whether that's at home or exploring the country. They have an appreciation for sport, music and the simple things in life.
